Good Monday morning, all! There’s a saying out there that reminds us to be kind and gentle with everyone we meet, for everyone is fighting some sort of battle. We may not see it on their face or in their actions, but it’s there, known only to them. And if we think about ourselves, we know it’s true. How many times havewe been the one struggling or just having a bad day, and no one knows it but us?
Scripture says many things about how we are supposed to treat one another. Next to the Golden Rule (you know, Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength and your neighbor as yourself), perhaps this verse from the prophet Micah says it best:
What does the Lord require of you? But to seek justice, to love kindness/mercy, and to walk humbly with your God. – Micah 6:8
Mother Teresa reminds us:
Let know one ever come to you without leaving better and happier. Be the living expression of God’s kindness: Kindness in your face. Kindness in your eyes. Kindness in your smile.
And even country music star Tim McGraw offers elegant words, urging us to stay Humble & Kind (listen to it HERE).
So take a few moments this morning to think about what it means to be kind to others – and to yourself. And then make a commitment to be kind others in some way. Have a great week!
